Concept Development: Positional Language

Students with autism do not necessarily understand simple concept, such as in, on, under, up and down. They must be taught explicitly through fun activities and functional everyday activities at home and at school. Engaging activities help students with autism focus and learn. As well as stimulating activities to teach positional language, music, movement, play acctivities and gross motor activities are particularly good strategies to use in developing the concepts.
